DERA MURAD JAMALI: Around 210 suspected criminals, including absconders and proclaimed offenders, have been arrested during the last one month in Nasirabad division, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police of Nasirabad Range, Nazeer Ahmed Kurd, on Friday.

The DIG said that all possible steps had been taken to restore peace and order in Nasirabad division and due to the good performance of police the crime rate had declined.

“We have decided not to compromise on the security of people,” Mr Kurd said, adding that he had been encouraging the police officials, who were performing their duty with honesty and determination. The police officials who were found to be negligent in their duties would be punished.

The DIG said that during the campaign against criminals in the district “police have arrested 181 absconders and 26 proclaimed offenders”.

In response to a question, he said all steps would be taken to ensure security of the minorities in the division.
