KARACHI: The Indus Academy and Lyceum College set a title clash by registering victories over their opponents in the girls semi-finals of the retired Brig Rashid Ali Malik memorial inter-school (A-Levels) boys and girls basketball championships at Arambagh court on Wednesday.

The Indus Academy carved out a 22-14 victory over The City School PAF Chapter.

Afrah Khan excelled with 12 followed by Shahzil six for the winners. Laiba and Fariha shared 10 points amongst themselves for the losers and Areej scored four.

The Lyceum College defeated The City School Darakshan by the identical scoreline of 22-14.

Aisha Ijlal and Shahama shone for the winners scoring eight point apiece. Amna and Fajar scored six and five respectively for the losers.

The pair of Danish and Rohaib helped the Nixor College rout the Indus Academy 51-24 to cruise into boys final.

The former amassed 23 points and was ably supported by the latter who returned with 18. Daniyal and Masab scored eight and seven respectively for the losers.

Nixor College will be up against The City School PAF Chapter who brushed aside Bahria College NORE-I in the other semi-final 31-29 in a nerve-wracking encounter.

Taimoor starred for the winners with a tally of 18 while Haris Khan scored six. Umer Farooq and Shehryar Nasir finished in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.

The curtain falls on the event on Thursday.
