GWADAR: Three members of a family were killed in an explosion in their house in the Tusp area of Panjgur district on Sunday, officials said.

Police said that the incident occurred when a hand grenade went off inside the mud house, killing a woman and her two children.

They said Sher Muhammad, 14, had found the grenade in the nearby graveyard on Saturday evening and brought it home. On Sunday, he was trying to open it when it went off. His mother and sister who were having breakfast at the time were killed while he was seriously injured.

Police shifted the bodies and the injured to the district hospital, Panjgur.

District Police Officer Allah Bakhsh said Sher Muhammad, a student of class 8, succumbed to injuries while being taken to Quetta for treatment.

The mother and daughter were identified as Samara Bibi and Humaira Bibi.
