MIRPURKHAS: Mirpurkhas under-19 defeated Thatta under-19 by 72 runs in the PCB regional inter-district under-19 one-day tournament here on Tuesday.

The match was played here at Municipal sports complex in which fast bowler Asim Ali was architect of Mirpurkhas win as he captured five wickets.

Mirpurkhas elected to bat first and made scored 229. Wicketkeeper batsman Khyyam Hassan was top scorer with 57 while Mohsin Ali Khan scored 41, Muhammad Waseem 32 and Raz Muhammad 31 runs respectively.

Ahmed Shabbir from Thatta bagged four wickets while Abdul Waris and Abdul Haseeb captured three wickets each.

In reply, Thatta were bowled out for just 157 runs with Ahmed Shabbir and Abdul Waris scoring 58 and 26 runs respectively. Giant pacer Asim, who stands at six feet eight inches, ripped through Thatta batting with figures of 5 for 25 while Amir Ali took three wickets.
