Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday appointed former test cricketer Jalaluddin as the chief selector of the women's cricket team while also confirming Mark Coles' position as the head coach for two years.

Coles, who was temporarily appointed for the New Zealand series on recommendation of men's coach Mickey Arthur, worked as an assistant coach with New Zealand 'A' Women's team and also coached the Wellington Blaze to a T20 title in 2013, read a statement issued by PCB.

Fast bowler Asmavia Iqbal, who announced her retirement from all forms of cricket today, was also made a part of the three-member selection committee headed by Jalaluddin. Akhtar Sarfraz will be the third member of the committee, the PCB announced.

"Finally after serving Pakistan for more then 14 years, today I want to end my career at a high note so announcing my retirement from international cricket (all formats). It has always been an honour representing my country. Looking forward to work with Pakistan Cricket Board," Iqbal said in a tweet.

Iqbal grabbed 70 wickets in 92 ODIs at an average of 36.2 since her debut against Sri Lanka in 2005. Her last international appearance was also against Sri Lanka in July 2017.

She took 44 wickets in 68 T20s at an average of 22.75 during her career.
