RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday claimed to have seized 673 kilograms of narcotics said to be valued over Rs658 million.

An ANF spokesman said they had arrested 30 people including two women for their suspected involvement in drug smuggling and impounded eight vehicles during 22 operations across the country.

The seized drugs included 661.3kg of hashish, 1.175kg of heroin, 4.1kg of amphetamine, 3kg of cannabis and 3.67kg of methamphetamine, he said.

The ANF of Quetta intercepted a vehicle and recovered 186kg of hashish. The driver Shafat Ali, a resident of Hafizabad, was arrested. Further investigations resulted in the recovery of 373kg of hashish from a deserted house in the Killi Gurgai area of district Qilla Abdullah.

The ANF of Rawalpindi arrested Mohammad Ghayas in Gilgit and recovered 4.5kg of hashish.

In another operation, they recovered 7.2kg of hashish from Rawalpindi.
