MIRPURKHAS, May 8: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has called upon people to elect candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League in the next local bodies’ elections to strengthen the country. He said many development schemes had been launched and completed by his government.

He was speaking at a public meeting held on Sunday in Hashim Bhurgari village near Kot Ghulam Mohammad town.

PML district president Khair Mohammad Bhurgari, former MNA Kishan Chand Parwani, Shahabuddin Shah Hussaini, Mustafa Kachhelo and MPA Arbab Abdullah were present on the occasion.

He said he would not tolerate theft of irrigation water and if any SDO was found involved in it he would face legal action.

He directed police officials to arrest anti-social elements to curb criminal activities.

He said the government was considering supply of Sui gas from Mirpurkhas to Naukot and towns including Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Mirwah, Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad and Jhuddo.

He said desilting of the Jamrao canal and other distributaries would begin from the next year to improve water supply upto tail-end areas.

He said the rehabilitation work of the Mithrao canal would start from the next year like the Jamrao canal.

He said surprise visits of distributaries and minors would be conducted to end water theft.

“We should reward merit with hard work”, he said.

He announced water supply, drainage and public park schemes for Kot Ghulam Mohammad town.

Sindh CM announced setting up of mono-technical college, middle school, high school and college for Kot Ghulam Muhammad and said prompt measures were being taken to improve primary education.

He said the standard of education in Sindh had declined while in the past it used to excel in the country.

He said a medical college or university would be established in future in Mirpurkhas as the area was deprived of higher education.

He said if a woman having middle school education was available in any village she would be provided job to run school of the village.

He asked PML workers and people to unite on platform of PML.
