Pakistan, India in final

LAHORE, May 7: Pakistan and India entered the final of the 7th Saarc golf championships at Kandy, Sri Lanka, an official of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) said on Saturday. The finals would be played on Sunday.

Pakistan entered the finals after being tied with host Sri Lanka on the second day (Saturday) with aggregate 308, each. The decision to put Pakistan into the finals was taken on the best card produced by No 3 player Waseem Rana who fired one-under-71.

India through to the final with a score of 300.

India have won the first five titles of the event while Pakistan are defending champions after winning the last event at Lahore last year.

Pakistan team comprises Vaqas Ahmed, Tariq Mehmood and Waseem Rana.
