QUETTA: The parliamentary leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) in the Balochistan Assembly, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, announced on Saturday that legal action would be taken against Manzoor Ahmed Kakar under Article 163(A) of the Constitution for violating the party’s discipline in the election of the chief minister of the province.

Mr Kakar cast his vote for Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo instead of PkMAP’s own candidate, Syed Liaquat Agha. His move prompted the party led by Mehmood Khan Achakzai to expel him.

“Being parliamentary leader of the PkMAP in the Balochistan Assembly, it is my responsibility to take action against Manzoor Kakar for his move against the party’s decision,” Mr Ziaratwal said.

He said his party would approach the Election Commission of Pakistan with a request to de-seat Mr Kakar because the party had lost confidence in the politician.
