SHANGLA: Poets and literature loving people from Shangla, Torghar, Battagram and Kohistan districts on Monday formed a joint literary circle to air their issues and seek their redressal from the government.

The Abasin Adabi Karvan was formed during a gathering held at Dandai area of Bisham.

Besides, a poetry session was also held on the occasion where the participants presented their pieces.

Qamar Sehrai, a noted poet from Battagram, said formation of the literary circle was aimed to create passion among the youth and common people about the importance of Pashtu literature.

He said the Adabi Karvan would play key role in bringing all the poets and literature lovers to one platform and provide opportunities to young poets.

“The poets of backward and remote districts are kept deprived of their rights because they are not united unlike their counterparts in other districts,” Aqal Zada Aqil, a Bisham-based poet, pointed out.

He said the literary circle would bring poets closer to each other and promote those poets who wrote about human values.

Fazal Rahim Lohar, a Shangla poet, said the literary people were the responsible class of the society and they could play an effective role in creating awareness among the people about the literature.

He also thanked poet Mukhtiar Ahmed Shaheen from Battagram for his hectic efforts in assembling poets of the respective districts at one platform.

A cabinet of the literary circle was also formed on the occasion with Qamar Sehrai from Battagram elected as its chairman, Bakht Afsar from Shangla vice chairman, Hamidullah Majboor of Shangla general secretary, Aqal Zada from Bisham deputy general secretary and Irfan Sehar press secretary.
