LAHORE, May 6: Police raided several illegal gas filling outlets in the city on Friday and arrested 22 people. The raids were carried out in three of the four police divisions in Lahore and 17 cases were registered against the violators. Nine people were rounded up in Sadar division, seven in Model Town and six in City division.

The campaign was launched on the direction of the chief minister after 29 people were killed in gas cylinder explosions in Allama Iqbal Town on Tuesday.

Aided by city district government teams, police conducted raids after collecting information about the illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) outlets. Besides, the raids were also carried out on shops selling petrol and fireworks.
