KARACHI, May 6: Police shot dead an alleged robber and arrested his two accomplices for looting valuables the house of a trader in Sachal police limits early on Friday morning. Police said that eight robbers in a vehicle reached at the house of Jawed Memon Korai. Four of them scaled the wall and entered the house while rest of their accomplices stayed outside. Someone in the neighbourhood informed Madadgar 15 about the incident. Subsequently, when the police rushed to the spot the alleged robbers sitting in the vehicle outside the house escaped. However, their two accomplices surrendered to the police and handed over their two TT pistols to the officials. Rest of the two accomplices did not surrender and opened fire at the police, which resulted in a shootout.

One of the robbers managed to escape while his accomplice suffered a bullet wound and died on the spot. His body was later shifted to a hospital for autopsy where he was identified as Mushtaq. The police recovered the looted property and started search for absconding suspects.

KILLED: A man was stabbed to death outside his residence in Issa Nagri here on Friday evening.

Police said that Anwar Masih and Munawar Masih attacked Ashraf Masih, a resident of Issa Nagri, near the latter’s house and stabbed him to death. They killed Ashraf on suspicion of developing extra-marital affairs with their aunt living in the neighbourhood of the victim. The police picked up the two alleged killers and their aunt Saira for investigation. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. Following the examination, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
