The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday claimed to have killed three alleged terrorists, reportedly associated with banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), during an alleged encounter in Karachi's Kaimkhani Colony area of Baldia Town.

Initial reports suggested that the alleged encounter ensued late in the night when personnel of Sindh Rangers' Anti-Terrorist Wing and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh Police cordoned off the area on a tip-off regarding the presence of suspected terrorists.

According to security officials, three suspects were killed during the encounter, however, few others managed to flee under the cover of darkness.

Two Rangers and a CTD personnel received bullet injuries during the gunfight, a Rangers spokesperson said.

The LEAs also claimed to have recovered two suicide jackets, two improvised explosive devices, a 9MM pistol, and two SMGs from the alleged hideout of the suspected terrorists.

Moreover, raids were being carried out to arrest the remaining suspects, whereas, the bodies of the deceased suspects were being examined to establish their identities.
