GWADAR: Two suspected militants were killed after they exchanged heavy gunfire with security personnel in the Tump area of Kech district on Thursday.

According to official sources, the security forces launched a search operation in the Tump area after receiving a tipoff from intelligence officials about the presence of militants there.

However, when the security personnel approached the area the militants opened fire on them. The law enforcement personnel returned fire.

The ensuing gunfight lasted for some time, ending only when the two militants had been killed, said the sources.
