LAHORE, Jan 6: It was another foggy and cold morning in Lahore and elsewhere in the Punjab on Sunday and the Met office forecast no fog on Monday because of a partly cloudy weather. There was a westerly wave which could cause rain and snow over the hill tops in Malakand division and in Azad Kashmir, creating a partly cloudy weather in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Gujranwala divisions during the next 24 hours, Met office predicted.

“Because of the wave it will remain cold and dry in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Bahawalpur divisions but there will also be no fog. There are chances of light rain in Rawalpindi division,” it said.

Most cities in the Punjab from Jhelum to Multan had been badly affected by extreme foggy and cold weather conditions during the past over 10 days.

Fog in Lahore cleared at around 10.30am, allowing a bright sunshine to increase day’s maximum temperature to 19.4 degrees which was 18.3 degrees C on Saturday. The minimum temperature was 3 degrees C with 100 per cent humidity in the morning and 53 per cent in the evening

Fog that had started developing at 2pm, reduced visibility to a minimum 30 metres which continued till 5am.

The minimum temperature in Skardu was -11 degrees C, Gilgit -6 degrees, Parachinar -5 degrees , Murree -3 degrees and Risalpur -1 degree C.
