LAHORE, Jan 6: JUP and United Front head Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani said on Sunday the diplomatic defeat given to the Indian prime minister during the Saarc summit was an honour for the Pakistan army but the movement of Indian forces across the borders was a part of American plan to keep Islamabad away from the reconstruction of Kabul.
Speaking at a party meeting here he said the entire nation, including the religious parties, were behind the Pakistan army and there was no threat to the independence, existence and sovereignty of the country.
Maulana Noorani said despite the accumulation of Indian forces along the Pakistan borders there was no chance of a war. The accumulation was part of the American plan to disallow Pakistan to take part in the reconstruction of Afghanistan by engaging it somewhere else.
He said despite having numerous problems the people of Afghanistan countered the American aggression with determination, breaking the backbone of US economy. “We are not with those who attacked America but these attacks are a harbinger of its destruction,” he said.
Earlier, Maulana Noorani said the vote bank of religious parties would not be allowed to be divided in the next general elections.
The United Front was a political and electoral alliance of six religious parties.
