ABU DHABI, May 2: Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq does not want to sit on past laurels. After leading exceptionally well in India in the recent Test as well as ODI series, the 35-year-old has now put his eyes on the upcoming challenge — a series against West Indies in the Caribbean starting later this month.

Inzamam, who is here to take part in tri-nation tsunami relief cricket tournament, said his side was focussed on doing well against the West Indies. “It was a nice feeling after coming home from India series. The reception we got was fabulous and all enjoyed it.

But now it’s a thing of the past,” Inzamam said on Monday.

“Now we have the series against West Indies and we are looking forward to it. We have to work hard, focus on our game and do the planning for the new challenge.”

With just a few days left for the series, Pakistan was taking the matches against teams from India and Sri Lanka in the triangular contest here as preparations. “This will definitely be a good contest. Sri Lanka is a good team and India has also some very good players.

“The two matches we play here will definitely help us,” he said.—Agencies
