ISLAMABAD: The High Powered Selection Board headed by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday promoted several bureaucrats, including secretary to PM Fawad Hasan Fawad, to grade 22.

Besides Mr Fawad — who belongs to 15th Common group — others promoted from this batch were secretary in-charge of the ministry of petroleum Muhammad Jalal Sikander and Shoaib Mir Memon.

The officers promoted from the Pakistan Administrative Services group were secretary in-charge of housing Babar Hasan Bharwana, secretary of National Assembly Tahir Hussain, chairman of National Highway Authority Jawad Rafiq Malik, Rizwan Ahmed, Tahir Sarfraz, Dr Muhammad Saqib and Rizwan Malik.

Mahar Khaliq Dad Lak and Bashir Ahmad of the Police Service group were also promoted as were two officers of the Secretariat group — Pervaiz Junejo and Noor Ahmed.

Inspector General Police Sindh Allah Dino Khowaja was said to be in the race, but his name was not considered.

In a related development, the Establishment Division notified that federal secretary Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, a BS-22 officer, has been given additional charge of the managing director of Pakistan Television Corporation whereas Muhammad Shabbir, a BS-19 officer of Secretariat group who is presently working as deputy secretary of Economic Affairs Division, has been transferred and posted as officer on special duty (OSD).

Marvi Kadir Dhakan, a BS-19 officer, presently posted as OSD Establishment Division, has been transferred and posted as deputy secretary of the Economic Affairs Division.
