FAISALABAD, Oct 20: A victim of police atrocities has threatened to commit suicide if the accused policemen were not arrested within 24 hours.

Mian Naseer of Chak 296 RB, told newsmen on Monday that CIA Inspector Nasir Abbas, SI Amjad Nazir and Aslam, and constables Shahzad Alam, Rafiq and Shafqat, raided his house on May 2 without any warrants, took away cash and prize bonds worth thousands of rupees and arrested him and his brother Muneer. They implicated them in a case of possession of illicit arms despite the fact that they had their licenses.

The Saddar ASP held an inquiry and cancelled cases registered against them and recommended legal action against policemen who had raided their house. A case was registered against the policemen on the AD&SJ orders and they were suspended from service by the DPO, but no arrest has been made so far.

Yemenis held: The district police claimed on Monday to have arrested three Yemen nationals with hand grenades and a revolver at Bhaiwala Chowk.

They have been reportedly shifted to an unidentified place where the intelligence agencies have been interrogating them.

The three foreigners are said to have links with some foreign terrorist outfits.
