One soldier was martyred and another injured in a landmine blast in Mohmand Agency on Friday morning, the political administration said.
The explosion occurred in Tehsil Saafi's Chamarkand area when the two personnel accidentally triggered an explosive while collecting water for their check post, an official said.
The injured soldier was shifted to a local hospital. Security forces initiated a search operation in the area after cordoning it off.
On Thursday, an IED planted along the roadside in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas' (Fata) South Waziristan Agency had killed five, including the chief of a peace committee.
