KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said on Wednesday that serious reservations exist over the apex court verdict on Panama Papers case and claimed that the majority of people did not agree with the judgement.

Speaking to lawyers of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) at the City Courts, he said that once the provincial metropolis, which is the financial hub of the country, used to come to a standstill within 10 minutes, but now peace has been restored due to the ongoing operation in Karachi.

He recalled that the legal fraternity had launched a historic movement against a military dictator to restore independence of judiciary and democracy, adding that he had also come from Dubai and participated in the movement.

The governor was of the view that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and operation Zarb-i-Azb were the landmark achievements of PML-N government, adding that $34 billion were invested in the power sector alone and the prime minister is set to visit Karachi on Nov 29 for inauguration of a new power plant.

KBA president Naeem Qureshi and others also spoke on the occasion.
