HYDERABAD, Aug 28: The district government is going to launch a new residential scheme in and around Hyderabad city to meet the residential problem and provide civic amenities in the shortest possible time.
This was stated at a meeting held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of district coordination officer, Hyderabad, Mukhtar Ahmed Aziz.
The meeting reviewed the dearth of civic facilities in general, and particularly in the housing sector due to the influx of people in the city.
The meeting was informed that up to 1996, 11 housing schemes were undertaken by the Hyderabad Development Authority, but the process could not be continued due to non-availability of government land.
The DCO said in this regard, reports of Deh Jamshoro, Fasadi Wah, had been transferred to the HDA to be approved by the district government for initiation of the scheme.
Instructions were issued to the executive district officer (Revenue) to ascertain and carry out survey of the government land to give shelter to the homeless of the Tando Mohammad Khan road, Zeal Pak, Hala road, New Fruit Market and Miani Forests areas.
The city Mukhtiarkar was directed to furnish a report of Latifabad No.4 and Pacca Qilla water tanks in a week’s time.
