NEW DELHI, Aug 26: Indian and Pakistani hockey teams may clash yet again - this time, on Indian soil.

Pakistan, one of the top four men’s teams from the continent, has been selected by Asian Hockey Federation to compete in Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad from Oct 24.

Indian Olympic Association officials were optimist the team would be able to come to India for the Games.

“It’s more or less final. Pakistan is one of the Asian teams whose names have been confirmed to the IOA by AHF,” said IOA secretary-general Randhir Singh.

South Korea, India and Malaysia are the other three Asian teams. Four teams from Africa have also been confirmed. South Africa, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Ghana complete the men’s team list.—PPI
