LAKKI MARWAT: Estranged Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA Aisha Gulalai’s former personal secretary Noor Zaman was gunned down in the Tarikhel area on Sunday.

An official at the Tajori police station said Mr Zaman was in the fields near Tarikhel village when his rivals reached there and opened fire on him.

“He died instantly, while the attackers escaped,” the official said. An FIR had been registered against Umar Khan, Shoban, Syed Alam and Awal Khan and investigation had been launched, he added.

Noor Zaman made the headlines a couple of months ago when he levelled serious allegations of corruption and embezzlement against Ms Gulalai. He had alleged that she and her father had received kickbacks in development projects.

Noor Zaman had also announced providing proofs against the MNA to the National Accountability Bureau and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission.

Earlier, Ms Gulalai had accused PTI chairman Imran Khan of sending her inappropriate text messages.

Police claimed that the killers belonged to the Dawerkhel tribe of Tajori town and they had a blood feud with the deceased’s family.
