SUKKUR, Aug 24: The students of Sukkur and its suburbs, seeking admission to medical colleges, are in a fix as the Sindh health secretary has ordered them to appear for admission tests at the Cadet College, Moin-jo-Daro, at 9am on Monday.

The students strongly resented appearing in the admission tests saying that it seemed that the secretary, Health, wanted to deprive them from getting admission in the medical colleges.

They said that it would be almost impossible for girl students to reach Moin-jo-Daro early in the morning to take the test.

They said that the form fees had been enhanced from Rs500 to Rs1,300, and added that they had been asked to deposit Rs1,000, which was non-refundable, with the application.

They said that this time both the admission tests of the MBBS and BDSC were being held together, which would be a drawback for the students, as earlier if a student failed in the MBBS admission test, he could participate in the BDSC admission test, but it would not be possible now.

The students demanded the higher authorities to conduct these admission tests at Sukkur and withdraw the decision regarding enhancement of fees, otherwise they would strongly protest against the injustice.
