SAHIWAL: The Pakpattan City police have registered a criminal case against 35 people for storming the residence of a sub-divisional officer (SDO) of the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) for delaying replacement of a faulty transformer.

SDO Saeed Ahmed said a number of residents of Mohalla Pir Karaiyain attacked his house and damaged his property 12 days ago.

The agitated residents claimed that the SDO did not listen to their genuine complaint for 48 hours and demanded ‘favour’ for repairing a dysfunctional transformer.
