HYDERABAD, Aug 23: A large number of workers held a protest sit-in outside the press club on Saturday against the Industrial Relation Ordinance 2002.
The workers of Ansari, Bawani and Seeri sugar mills, Chori Mazdoor union, Dawn bread union and other unions affiliated with the National Labour Federation participated in the sit-in.
Speaking on the occasion, NLF, president, Mohammad Islam said federation would continue its struggle unless this black law was repealed or some of its anti-worker clauses deleted.
Provincial president NLF Rana Mehmood Ali said workers were being meted out step motherly treatment. He said industries were being closed under a planned conspiracy.
Wapda Pegham union leader Ali Nawaz Jakhrani, Rafique Memon, Nabi Jan Talpur, Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh and others also spoke on the occasion.
