ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani says that Islam is the religion of peace which teaches compassion, love, brotherhood and tolerance whereas the Ummah believes in peaceful co-existence.

Today the world is talking about promotion of culture pluralism, inter-faith peace and inter-ethnic dialogue but the western imperialism and colonialism have distorted and fragmented the inter-cultures and inter-ethnic harmony. He made these observations while speaking at the 137th Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly at St Petersburg in Russia, according to a statement issued by the Senate media wing on Monday. Heads of parliaments, parliamentarians and delegates from around the globe are participating in the assembly.
