NOWSHERA: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday accused the PTI government of committing large-scale corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The PTI government has snatched jobs from the people, committed fraud and corruption everywhere and didn’t even spare the Bank of Khyber,” he told a public meeting in Ziarat Kaka Sahib area here.

He also addressed a public meeting in Manki Sharif area. On the occasion, Pir of Manki Sharif Pir Nabi Ameen formally announced the joining of the PPP after quitting the PML-N.

PPP provincial president Humayun Khan, general secretary Fazl Kareem Kundi and leaders Rahimdad Khan, Mian Muzaffar Shah, Liaquat Shabab, Mian Yahya Shah, Mian Feroz Jamal Shah and Najmuddin Khan were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the public meetings, the PPP co-chairman said both PML-N and PTI were playing politics of opportunism.

He said Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan’s parties supported each other in the Senate over legislation lately. Mr Zardari said ironically, KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak didn’t develop own village, Manki Sharif.

He said his party would set up industries in KP after coming to power, while all leases of mineral assets would be canceled as a person had allotted himself them all. The PPP co-chairman said KP was rich in natural resources. He said his government had given identity to Pakhtuns by renaming their province as desired by them.

“Pakhtuns live all over the world but they should first be identified by their own land,” he said.

During a public meeting, former federal minister Mian Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel said the PPP would win the next general elections as the people had acknowledged that only it could steer the country out of the current crises.

Earlier, Mr Zardari visited Ziarat Kaka Sahib and laid a wreath and hoisted a flag in the shrine of Hazrat Shaikh Rahamkar.
