SUKKUR, Aug 22: Three villages and a vast area of paddy crop were flooded on Friday after a breach developed in the Moosa Allah Yar canal in Thul taluka, Jacobabad district.

The 30-foot-wide breach occurred near Dhani Bux Channa village, inundating Hooran Banglani, Mohammad Aslam Banglani and Mohammad Akram Banglani villages.

Several houses in these villages and paddy fields were damaged by flood waters.

LAWYERS: The members of high court and district bar associations have criticized the Swiss magistrate’s verdict against People’s Party Parliamentarian leader Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari.

In a meeting on Friday, they termed the judgment fictitious and said it was declared at behest of the Pakistan government.
