PESHAWAR, Aug 22: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has granted licence for FM broadcast to the University of Peshawar.

A press release issued here said that Pemra had granted a non-commercial FM radio broadcast station of limited power to the department of journalism and mass communication for academic purposes.

Journalism and Mass Communication Department Chairman Dr Shah Jehan Syed and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority General Manager Syed Fayaz Hussain signed the agreement on Friday.

The campus radio station was operating for the last two years providing training, recording and production facilities to varsity students.

#TRAINING:# The inaugural ceremony of a five-day training course for the teachers of statistics will be held on Monday at the Senate Hall of the University of Peshawar.

The training course is organized by the department of statistics in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission and 45 teachers from all over the province have been invited to attend the course.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Professor Zulfiqar Hussain Gilani, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
