KARACHI: Narcotics seized

KARACHI, Aug 22: The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) officials recovered 240 kilograms of fine quality hashish and 1kg heroin, from a vehicle and arrested the driver near Uthal checkpoint in Balochistan. The estimated cost of the narcotics was stated to be millions of rupees in the international market.

The PCG officials, on a tip-off, intercepted a vehicle (land crusier) coming from Quetta. During search operation, they recovered the narcotics, which had been concealed in the cavities of the vehicles.

The narcotics were being shifted to Karachi for onward smuggling, said a handout.—PPI
