LAHORE: The JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has invited various parties on Oct 12 to discuss revival of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal – a conglomerate of religious parties that ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan between 2002-07.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, JUP (Norani) president Pir Ijaz Hashmi said his party would ask the Jamat-i-Islami and Jamiat Ulema Islam (Fazl) to quit KP and federal governments, respectively if they were serious in reviving the defunct MMA.

Hashmi also chided the intelligence agencies for what he said carving out factions of political parties and urged them to keep an eye on anti-state elements instead of politicians.
