THATTA, Aug 21: At least 27 employees of the district forest office have complained that they have not been paid their salaries for the last three months.

Speaking to reporters at the press club on Wednesday, they said they had been drawing their salaries through the Sindh forest department’s provincial pool but following the partial merger of forest wing in the district government, they had been facing problems in getting their salaries.

The unpaid employees included foresters, forest guards, range forest officers, junior clerks and watchmen among others.

They said in spite of a notification issued by the provincial finance and cooperation department on Feb 27 regarding payment of salaries of the district government departments, they had not been paid their salaries, forcing them to run from pillar to post.—Correspondent
