Ateacher is a professional who shares their knowledge with their students and contributes towards their development. The world over, teaching is considered a very noble profession indeed.

A teacher listens to you when you tell them how much you like to play electronic games or when you tell them that your mum is very strict.

“Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, calibre, and future of an individual. If people remember me as a good teacher that will be the biggest honour for me,” A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, an ex-president of India.

Teachers offer valuable service to a nation. They influence a student’s choice of subjects and ultimately the profession they choose by motivating and inspiring them.

“I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well,” said Alexander the great about his legendary teacher, Aristotle.

A teacher not only tells, but explains, demonstrates and inspires. The learning of their students is their utmost concern but they can get disappointed by students who waste their potentials.

William Arthur Ward, one of the most quoted American writers explains, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”

Teachers are not only specialists in their respective subjects, but they also teach their students good morals and inculcate good habits. They ignite the passion for learning and want that to continue for a lifetime.

We all should respect our teachers who taught us at any stage in our lives. All teachers, like elders, should be respected, despite the fact that they make you study hard and sometimes take strict measures to discipline students who find it difficult to follow class norms.

Let’s appreciate our teachers’ efforts and reward them by showing gratitude and following their teachings. Join in to celebrate Teacher’s Day and show your teacher what a difference they make in your lives. Happy Teachers’ Day!
