Three share lead after 2nd round

LAHORE, Aug 20: Zohaib Gillani (Lahore), Haji Afzal (Lahore) and Yasir Butt (Gujranwala) were in first position with five points each on the second day of  the Punjab chess championship at a local hotel here on Wednesday.

In the most thrilling match of the day, Haji Afzal  defeated Aamir Karim to remain in fray at the top.

However, Aamir along with Mahmood Mir, Abdul Majid, Mohammad Iqbal, Naeem Khan, Ijaz Butt and Mahmood Abbas were jointly in second spot with four points, each.
