KARACHI: Ali Bin Nasir Rao and Mohammad Abdullah Bin Akram won the national Laser 4.7 and Optimist titles respectively as the curtain fell on the three-day event at the Clifton Beach on Sunday.

Mohammad Awais and Mohammad Raheel Javaid seized second and third positions respectively in Laser 4.7 (under-17).

Abdullah swept all the nine races that were sailed to complete a hat-trick by retaining the Optimist (under-15) title.

Mohammad Ahmed occupied second position while Syed Shakir Ali Shah finished third.

Secretary of the Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF), Commandar Mohammad Akram Tariq, said that preparations for the next year”s Asian Games were in full swing.

Plans are afoot to send top players to the Al Bareh regatta which will be held at Bahrain from December 13 to 16, he added.
