Late Baloch politician Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri's son, Nawabzada Gazeen Marri, was remanded to Levies custody on Saturday for five days in connection with a murder case by a court in Quetta.

Gazeen Marri, who was arrested by police upon arrival in Quetta on Friday after 18-years of self-imposed exile in Dubai, was handed over to the Levies Forces on five-day remand by District and Sessions Judge Rashid Mehmood amid tight security at the court in Quetta today.

He was wanted for the murder of Justice Nawaz Marri. Gazeen's counsel Advocate Arbab Tahir claimed there was no justification for his client's arrest as he had already secured protective bail from the Sindh High Court in the murder case of Justice Nawaz Marri.

However, the Levies sought Gazeen's remand in connection to a separate murder case in Balochistan's Kohlu area.

A landmine blast in Kohlu's Mavand tehsil in June 2004 killed civilians. Subsequently, the Levies had registered murder and terrorism cases against Gazeen Marri.
