ISLAMABAD: The National Polio Programme is set to start first nationwide polio campaign from Sept 18, aimed at vaccinating 37.74 million children.

The ministry of national health services says the country’s final push towards polio eradication and a door-to-door campaign will remain in force from Sept 18-22, with a few local operational adjustments such as in Quetta from Sept 17-23; Lahore from Sept 19-23; and Karachi from Sept 16-22. The programme targets 18.76m children in Punjab; 8.6m in Sindh; 5.6m in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; 2.4m in Balochistan; 1.034m in Fata; 0.74m in AJK; 0.234m in Gilgit-Baltistan; and 0.312m in Islamabad.
