Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will lead the Pakistani delegation at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on Sept 18, a statement released by the Foreign Office (FO) said on Friday.

Abbasi will address the Council on Foreign Relations at the UNGA, the FO said, and will hold bilateral meetings with a number of world leaders on the sidelines of the session.

Pakistan will also participate in ministerial meetings of regional and sub-regional organisations, including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), G-77 and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, expected to be held on the sidelines of the UNGA session, the handout read.

There will also be a meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.

The prime minister will interact with the US Pakistan Business Council on the margins of the UNGA session, the FO statement added.
