The United Bank Limited (UBL) has decided to approach the Cyber Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with "fake messages" being circulated on social media websites to damage its reputation.
According to a letter written by the chief legal counsel of the bank to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), some fake, false and malicious messages have been circulating for the last several months through social media, particularly WhatsApp.
The messages contain inter-alia, derogatory remarks against the bank with the intent to damage its reputation, said the letter.
The bank has decided to report this to FIA's Cyber Crime Circle under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016 and other relevant laws.

Remember, there is NO fire without smoke! A criminal does not accept his or her crime until it is tried in the court - we have a classical example of Nawaz Sharif and his family. Despite all the solid evidence they still think that they have not done anything.

The management of UBL has to blame itself bad reputation. The headstrong behavior of UBL staff is responsuble. I am living in Islamabad and whenever I visited UBL branch in the posh F-6 market to pay my utility bills, almost always they said their system was down. I had to stop visiting them and had to go to some other banks, although considerable distance away. All my complaints had fallen on their management's deaf ears.

I had an account with UBL...PH 1 KHI....what a miserable bank it was...the arrogance of the staff was as if I was asking for loan every time I visited...
