LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party will organise a public meeting on Sept 14 as part of the campaign for its nominee Faisal Mir in the NA-120 by-poll.

Mozang has been selected as venue for the gathering which will be addressed by the PPP secretary general and former Senator Nayyer Husain Bokhari, central Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira, information secretary Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad, Nadeem Afzal Chan and others.

The PPP leaders also held a meeting with Mr Mir at the party’s Mohni Road election office to discuss issues related to voters’ lists and polling scheme.

The meeting expressed its annoyance at the alleged problems being created by the ruling PML-N for its rivals in the constituency.

Mir along with ex-federal minister Rana Farooq Saeed also held a meeting with polling agents to be deployed at the polling stations for women and discussed with them the strategy for minimising chances of rigging on the polling day.
