Sumera, Sana, Aamina grab crowns

KARACHI, Aug 18: Sumera Haq Arain, Aamina Arain and Sana Ghayoor captured girls Under-1, Under-17and Under-15 titles of the Sukkur District Squash championship on Monday, according to a Sindh Squash Association press release.

The winners girls won their finals in straight games. Sumeria outgunned Maria Gul 9-4, 9-6, 9-6, Aamina downed Rehana Baloch 9-2, 9-5, 9-7 while Sana triumphed over Maria Rafique 9-6, 9-4, 9-7.

Meanwhile Rehan Memon will meet M. Shahid in the final of the men’s singles after recording victories over their rivals in the semifinals.

Girls U-19 final: Sumera Haq Arain bt Maria Gul 9-4, 9-6, 9-6

Girls U-17 final: Aamina Arain bt Rehana Baloch 9-2, 9-5, 9-7

Girls U-15 final: Sana Ghayoor bt Maria Rafique 9-6, 9-4, 9-7

Men’s semifinals:

Rehan Memon bt Atique Lodhi 15-4, 15-2, 15-5; M. Shahid bt Shabbir Memon 15-10,15-5, 5-15, 13-15, 15-9

Boys Under-19 semifinals:

Mehran Khan bt Junaid Khan 12-15, 15-9, 15-7, 15-5; Naveed Niaz bt Farrukh Sangi 15-9, 15-4, 11-15, 15-11

Boys Under-17 semifinal:

Adeel Ghayur bt Sabtain Ali Shah 15-5, 10-15, 15-9, 15-10
