DARA ADAMKHEL, Aug 18: Local authorities have arrested four Afghan scrap dealers on Monday, recovering about 2,000 second- hand power meters from their possession.
The meters were recovered in a raid conducted by the Khasadar force on the directives of the Kohat DCO in the Frontier Region Dara Adamkhel, some 30 kilometres from Peshawar.
Various warehouses were raided in the Darra Bazaar leading to the arrest of Afghan refugees identified as Abdul Shakoor, Abdullah, Taza Gul and Shakirullah.
Officials said that the accused had confessed that these power meters were stolen from the abandoned Nasir Bagh, Badbar and Matani refugee camps near Peshawar. They were later shifted to Kohat prison and cases have been registered.
NJAB POLICE: Kohat DCO Tariq Hayat has asked the Punjab police not to enter the tribal area of Dara Adamkhel without prior permission, sources said.
An official said that Punjab’s Home Department had been informed that recently Attock police mobile squad had visited Dara Adamkhel without taking prior permission from the concerned authorities and purchased unlicensed arms from the local market.
