QUETTA, Aug 17: Speakers at a seminar lauded the services of Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo for creating awareness among the people of Balochistan about their democratic rights.
A two-day seminar, “The role of Bizenjo in contemporary consciousness”, was organized jointly by the Idara-i-Sangat and Bizenjo Foundation in collaboration of Aurat Foundation to commemorate the services of the Baloch politician on his death anniversary. The seminar concluded on Saturday.
Shakil Baloch, Dr Shah Mohammad Marri, Professor Nadir Qambrani, Aziz Bugti, Anwarul Haq Kakar, Allah Bakhsh Buzdar, Professor Ghous Bakhsh Sabir, Dr Ataullah Bizenjo, Waheed Zaheer, Bairam Ghori, and Dr Qahoor Khan spoke at the seminar.
The speakers said that Baba Bizenjo had said that they were living in the era of reasoning and logic, and the Baloch people should struggle for their rights, but, they said, he never advocated an armed struggle.
They said he was a symbol of provincial autonomy and to attain the objective he faced numerous problems and dared imprisonment.
They said that Mr Bizenjo was a progressive nationalist and was against imperialism, autocratic rulers and military dictators.
The speakers said that his contribution for the province would be remembered even in the time to come.
