LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said no transfers and postings of civil servants can be made in NA-120 after the issuance of election schedule.

According to the commission, individual transfers and postings of civil servants may only be made with prior approval of the ECP.

“Recently, the postings/transfers of civil servants after issuance of election schedule is sheer violation of the code of conduct.”

In a letter to its Lahore chief, the ECP said: “It is requested to stop transfers/postings of police officials so that election is conducted in accordance with law,” it stated.

The by-poll in NA-120 is scheduled for Sept 17.
