ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) is in the process of introducing new technologies in Telecom sector for maintaining its network, Director General (Operations) Tanvir Ahmad said here Friday.
During his visit to Rawalpindi Cantonment-Exchanges, he stressed the need for using computer technology for maintaining the telephone network up to the required standard.
“The customer care and satisfaction is the prime aim of the PTCL,” he observed and added that computers must be used for not only typing letters and reports, but also for online data transfer.
The aim of the PTCL is to further develop and enhance telecom facilities to each corner of the country, he said and observed that the company was planning to utilize modern technologies of telecom sector and human resource for achieving targets of phones installation and revenue collection.
The computer technology may be used for entertaining faulty phones and non-delivery of bills complaints, which could help rectify and minimize the rate of complaints.
During visit of different sites, the director general said measures should taken to meet the challenges faced by the PTCL after the deregulation policy in telecom sector.
He said the field staff and officers needed to come out from their offices and serve the valued subscribers with devotion and dedication.
The fault-free telecom services must be provided to subscribers, he added.
