QUETTA: A tribal elder was shot dead and his bodyguard was injured by armed men in the Dalbandin area of the Chagai district on Tuesday.

Police said that the tribal elder, Haji Attaullah, and his security guard, Samiullah, were on their way to the bazaar from home when assailants opened fire on them in front of the Prince Shah Faisal Hospital. The attackers managed to escape after firing.

As result of the firing, Haji Attaullah died on the spot due to multiple bullet injuries. Samiullah was injured in the attack and taken to the Chagai district Hospital.
