SHANGLA/BATTAGRAM: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has demanded probe into the allegations leveled by MNA Aysha Gulalai against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.

Talking to mediapersons during his visit to Bisham on Wednesday, Mr Hoti said the nation was waiting for verdict on foreign funding of PTI and money trail of Imran Khan’s property in London.

ANP district president Haji Saeed Fareen, PK-87 president Azam Khan, opposition leader in the district council Shangla Haji Sadeedur Rehman and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Mr Hoti also visited PML-N lawmaker Mohammad Rashad Khan’s residence and offered condolences to him on the death of his cousin.

Answering a question, he said the opposition failed to bring a consensus candidate for Tuesday’s election of the prime minister.

“The serious allegations leveled against Imran Khan by his party’s female MNA are horrible which have put PTI chief in trouble,” he added.

He said Ms Gulalai also exposed top leadership of PTI, including the chief minister and his son. He asked the National Assembly speaker to order probe into the allegations. Answering a question, he said ANP would welcome Gulalai if she wanted to become part of the party.

Meanwhile, speaking at a public meeting in Battagram, Mr Hoti claimed that change could not be brought by singing and dancing in a reference to the PTI gatherings, which are often punctuated by music and party songs.

ANP Battagram president Ayaz Khan Torkhail, general secretary Sher Mohammad, and other prominent leaders were also present.

Mr Hoti claimed that the ANP was the only political party which faced terrorism upfront and gave many sacrifices of its workers and leaders.

He said the incumbent provincial government had failed to honour its commitments made prior to the 2013 elections. He claimed ANP government initiated various steps for promoting education as it believed in the power of knowledge to change the people’s fate for the better.

He recounted that ANP had established 40 colleges and 10 universities in KP, while in 65 years only 46 colleges were built in the province. He maintained that his government introduced monitoring system of schools, but the present government was taking credit for it.

He said Bacha Khan spread the message of peace, love, tolerance, adding change could not be possible through singing, dancing and arranging musical concerts.

Mr Hoti claimed that his government had provided Rs50 million and 50 kanals of land to Imran Khan to build his cancer hospital in Peshawar, but now he was criticising ANP without any grounds.
