ISLAMABAD: The two old friends and now arch-rivals — Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan — had a chance encounter at a restaurant here on Monday night.

When some TV channels reported that the two had a meeting, a PTI spokesman issued a denial that any meeting had taken place between Mr Khan and Chaudhry Nisar.

However, he confirmed that the two were present at an Italian restaurant in F-7 Sector at the time of dinner.

The spokesman said the former interior minister had already finished his meal when the PTI chief entered the restaurant.

He claimed that Chaudhry Nisar immediately left the restaurant as soon as Mr Khan reached there and the two did not even have a handshake.
